All I can say is...parents, read the contracts and if you don't understand them, find a good lawyer who will explain it and if you're being pressured to sign something, don't sign it. I know it's easier said than done because you don't want to pass up opportunities for your child but at the end of the day we are our kids' best advocates. If we don't understand something and sign it any way, then shame on us.
